How The Wellness Cultivator - and horticultural therapy - works

Horticultural therapy is an evidence-based practice that uses plant-based activities to improve physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing. While we love casual gardening, horticultural therapy is intentionally focused and facilitated to achieve specific, measurable therapeutic goals.

The Wellness Cultivator works with organizations — including residential care facilities, companies large and small, schools, and not-for-profits — to develop programs designed around specific goals and abilities. Working with plants, I’ll help you and your people engage multiple senses, exercise problem-solving and planning, and enjoy tangible results. Activities are adaptable to any ability level and can be done indoors or outdoors, with large gardens or small containers. Just you? That’s great! Individual activities in your home garden can be both therapeutic and personally rewarding.
